We had a great time at your condo. Beautiful location, and so close to everything. My husband really wants to go back in the summer to golf Trickle Creek, so we may contact you again in the future! We all had a GREAT time. The skiing was fantastic, and the hot tub was very therapeutic after a day on the hill. The beds were ultra comfortable, and we all slept in each day. Thanks for a great weekend! V Family 03/08.

The nordic ski track is just uphill and there is access into the Kimberley Nature Park from a trail leading past the Tall Pines development.

In addition to the Trickle Creek Golf Course which is indescribably beautiful and fun to play (just outside your front door), the pine tree lined Kimberley City Course, or the riverside Bootleg Gap Courses are just minutes from Three Bears. In Cranbrook is the esteemed St. Eugene Mission Course, Cranbrook Golf Course and several others. Head up north and play at any one of dozens of other courses in the Radium/Invermere/Fairmont area. Kimberley is a golfer's heaven. All courses are blessed with aroma of fresh pine trees and majestic rivers running by them or they feature panoramic mountain views.

During the golden sunny days of summer, head out from your backyard on foot to hike the Kimberley Nature Park, Lois Creek Trails, or to road ride or downhill bike the ski hill. It is also possible to drive only a very short distance in order to enjoy water skiing, boat rentals, kayaking, canoeing, river rafting, tent camping, rock climbing, gold panning, horseback riding, swimming at sandy beaches in Columbia Valley lakes or in pristine emerald colored alpine lakes. Additional activity ideas nearby may include hiking verdant forests, mountain biking, and fishing. The resident Kimberley deer lend a distinctly wild flavor to the surroundings.

Winter brings a further array of fresh-air sports options, including the option to night ski on lighted nordic tracks or cross-country ski through thousands of hectares of wooded heaven in the Kimberley Nature Park, skiing or snowboarding down the graceful runs and broad glades of the uncrowded Kimberley Alpine Resort, ice skating, dog sledding, sleigh rides, snow-shoe adventures, heli-skiing, and snowmobiling.

A town that offers breath taking scenery and clean mountain air, Kimberley dates back to the summer of 1891 when Galena was discovered at the North Star Mine. Located between two great mountain ranges, the Purcells to the West and the majestic Rockies to the East, there are vast forests and designated wilderness areas that shelter rare songbirds and spectacular wild animals.

Kimberley is the sunniest city in British Columbia. Summer temperatures can reach over 30 degrees celcius with cool comfortable evenings. In the winter, many days of powder skiing may be highlighted with golden sunshine.

Kimberley Alpine Resort reaches a total elevation of 6,500 feet into the deep blue sky. Cascade down a fall line of more than 2,400 feet while covering as much as 1,800 skiable acres of legendary Canadian powder snow. In total there are three chair lifts and a T-bar providing access to 57 runs and glades, 26 kilometers of nordic trails, a snowboarding terrain park and half-pipe. Kimberley is renowned for its long, gentle fall-line runs that are typically carpeted with plenty of dry, fluffy Purcell powder. The frontside is famous for its miles and miles of gentle, meticulously groomed trails. Families also love Kimberley's on-hill accommodation facilities and restaurants. Riders enjoy a leisurely lunch only a snowballs throw away from the lifts while taking in the panoramic view of Kimberley's front side slopes.

I have skiied every major resort in the Canadian and US West including Vail, Whistler, Alta, Snowbird, Targhee and other challenging hills. My personal favorite is Kimberley. There's nothing like skiing with no liftlines and lots of room to roam on a broad treed hill with spectacular scenery and the driest snow imaginable.

In just a few months of living in Kimberley, we have seen several moose, black bears, grizzly bears, mountain goats, big horn sheep, tens of thousands of deer, elk, coyote, skunks and eagles. The broad marshes of the Columbia valley and several wildlife reserves offer birders great opportunities.

After a fulfilling day of outdoor play, stop at a natural outdoor hot springs in a nearby park, or head home for an in-villa massage, take-out restaurant meal or grocery delivery, a soak in your own personal hot tub spa, and an evening of jovial conversation under the stars while warming your toes over the wood burning campfire pit.

History buffs will love exploring the remnants of 19th century gold mining camps including the site of the legendary Fisherville on Wild Horse Creek or the original Fort Steele Heritage Town which offers theater nights, wagon rides, and holiday theme dining.

Other pleasant diversions include the St. Eugene Mission, located just 20 minutes from Kimberley, a beautiful new casino in a scenic valley, pampering yourself in local spas and salons, or strolling through the Cominco gardens in spring and summer.

The most convenient airport is the newly expanded Cranbrook Airport, just 15 minutes away. Rental cars, taxi, or shuttle services are readily available. Cranbrook/Kimberley Airport is reached by direct flight from Calgary or Vancouver. We enjoy the drive from Spokane or Kalispell, 3-4 hours of scenic touring along historic routes to 19th century gold mines. Flights from Seattle to Spokane are sometimes as low as $39 each way. We will assist our guests in planning their travel to Kimberley, along with offering suggestions for recreation, sports, and sightseeing while staying at Three Bears at Tall Pines.
